Mar 2020 – The tyranny of lessons

Our planned meeting for March 2020 on the theme of ‘Lessons’ was cancelled as the Covid pandemic hit. We started to communicate via the website and in May started Zoom meetings.

Thomas More’s ‘Childhood’ and William Blake’s ‘The School Boy’ both express what we must all have felt at some time in our childhood – I hope not all the time – , that we would rather not be in lessons.

You’ll find the poems at these links:

  1. Hi Chris The first link took some time to read and I need to reread it, need to see the tapestry!! Yes to the sentiment of the second poem, it’s why on sunny days I took the children out as much as health and safety would allow!! Thanks for introducing me to these. Tonia
