A Modern Fairy Tale
Commonly called corduroy Roy
On account of his jeans and his jacket
He taught pottery to people with problems
Until he could no longer hack it
And then he won the lottery
He made life changing decisions
No more teaching pottery
He’d make glorious clay pigeons
His neighbours expressed fury and aggro
When his birds covered the roof, lawn and wall
And their anger did not fade
When some reached six feet tall
Was this the end of life’s slow pace
In lovely cosy Meridian Place
With small minded, wary neighbours
Sneering at Roy’s artistic labours
Getting more and more self assured
Roy booked a flight from Luton
He wanted to see a bit of the world
And ended up in Wutan
One day when walking about the town
He came upon a travelling show
He went inside and there he met
An actress called Ling Wan Po
She had both brains and good looks
And enacted scenes from old books
She gave Roy such a thrill
He thought she was really brill
He brought Ling home to Bedfordshire
And bought a house with lots of land
He called the house Crown Jewels
Because it was so grand#
And then Ling started a spa with a nail bar
That specialised in acrylic designs
Until a spammer threatened her
Claiming she’d stolen his lines
He said he’d send the heavies in
zero hour was midnight, first of May
If they wanted to carry on living
There’d better be no delay
The called in the cops who traced him
To a seamy backstreet in Leeds
He was a man they wanted
For previous dirty deeds
So Ling got back to her spa
And Roy carried on with his clay
And as far as I am aware
Thats where they are to this day.

A splendid tale. Great to see that the challenge produced so much creativity and enjoyment.
This is a wonderful tale and almost believable. Very funny too!
